With the Delta Center attendance being at capacity, there's certainly no shortage of fan stories to be heard! The event had an impact on each individual, family, staff and even the new players as well. Some players have quoted that the event was the highlight of their entire career!
The way they were welcomed at the airport by the youth, and the loud cheering inside the arena. It was all unforgettable for all. Here we will be compiling interviews and stories from fans who attended, so we can grasp the full picture from their different perspectives.

"Utah is excited! We are excited! It’s going to be such a great thing for us locals! I’m most excited for the youth in our community. Having an NHL team will help our youth programs grow."
"Youth Hockey and building rinks needs to be a focus, or this think dies pretty quick. Utahns have lots of kids and are cheap. Youth Hockey must be cheap, quick, and easy to get the kids in. Adult leagues are full too, but Wu Tang is for the babies. "

It's been a big anticipation for the Utah fanbase to discuss team name ideas, but now that the official voting poll has been released it's time to narrow down 4 of the 20 name options they provided.
In our own local poll on this site, the Yeti was in first place followed by the Swarm and Mammoth.

With a final score of 5-3, New York Rangers secure their future in Round 3 of the playoffs. In the Eastern Conference Final, they will be up against the winner of Florida/Boston.

Hurricanes managed to hold on and prevent the sweep by New York Rangers with a win yesterday. Making the series 3-1. Florida Panthers/Boston Bruins and Dallas Stars/Colorado Avalanche both stand at 2-1. Panthers leading 2-1, and Dallas leading 2-1. While Canucks and Oilers are tied at 1-1 in their series.
My prediction for Eastern Conference final is Panthers vs Rangers. And for the Western Conference I predict Dallas vs Edmonton. Although it would be nice to see Vancouver go to the Western Final.

What was your favorite part of the welcome party?
My favorite part was getting to hear the new team introduce themselves, and I am truly excited we are in the pacific division so I can see my home town team play on away games.

How long have you been a hockey fan?
10 years. I got a job doing the music for our ECHL team here in Utah, the Utah Grizzlies. I didn’t know much about hockey when I started the job, but as seasons went on I fell in love with the sport.
Cheering Utah fans pack a full house at delta center
Big energy that day, made some great friends and all 3 of us caught free t-shirts. Got on the scoreboard and got to sit with an original equipment manager for the Salt Lake City Golden Eagles back in '89. He deserved to catch the first shirt.
He had been waiting for the day the NHL came to Utah, and now it came to reality, he said he was literally in tears with emotion that's how special this day was for him.
It has been amazing to be a part of this. To be present and feel the energy in the building is something felt in person.
A common interest like Hockey can unite complete strangers and give them reason for cheer.
So so memorable.
#NHLinUtah was 100% worth the flight from Toronto.
